Use at your own risk: how to install Front Row on your mac.
Free and very well designed web based side job tracking utility, creatively called sidejobtrack.com. If you do anything 'on the side' that involves either services and/or materials, here's a quick 'n easy way to track what you do along with sending out invoices/estimates for your services.
iTunes Music store opens in Australia. It is now safe to move to Australia.
I'd forgotten how much fun it is doing Windows updates. Currently at 22 of 37 updates. I'm trying to get my old Windows box in shape for Bruce & Lisa and besides having to figure out how to get rid of Linux on the machine, I'm also running all the updates/patches/etc so they won't have to on the dialup internet they get to use in the 'country'.
The main problem I've run across is that I don't have a modem. Nor does the old, old other computer that I used to use. So now I'm faced with having to go buy a modem in 2005! Crazy. Anyone have a PCI modem that they don't use anymore and want to donate to a good cause? (i.e. getting Keli, their daughter, onto MSN messenger)
I've also now got copies of Battlefield: 1942 and Battlefield: Vietnam that I'm guessing they won't be needing - first $5 takes each one or I'll trade for a working modem. :)
Now who wants to loan me $23 grand?
I know you're all anxiously awaiting the new five2nine video - but in the meantime, the original first video has finally made it's way to the world wide interweb. Click here to watch it in all it's glory (and gory).
If you're a Windows user and it doesn't work - you gots to go get Quicktime v7.
Clicky clicky. There's probably a quicker way but this spells it out pretty easily.
Now all I'm missing is the iPod. :)
Serious Apple nerds watch Steve Jobs present the new products and get blanketed by his reality distortion field.
For the rest of you, new video iPods, new iMacs with integrated iSight camera and a new version of iTunes with the ability to buy videos for your new video iPod.
If you're connected to the UofS in some way, my store has some great deals on the now disco'd iMacs.
A student "took a photo of George Bush out of a magazine and tacked the picture to a wall with a red thumb tack through his head. Then he made a thumb’s down sign with his own hand next to the President’s picture, and he had a photo taken of that, and he pasted it on a poster." When the student got their picture developed at Wal-Mart, the employee took it upon themselves to call the police to alert them to this... and the Secret Service show up to talk to the kid and his teacher.
Awesome.
Need a quick 'n easy (and free) image editor for OS X? Give Imagewell a try. It's not Photoshop, but it does do a lot of stuff that most people think they need to buy Photoshop for.
Sims 2 University for Mac is available for pre-order. Travis?
I've always wanted to get involved in video production in some fashion - and it turns out Al-Qaida is looking for some video production/web design folks to help with their terror campaign.
Hey, you gotta start somewhere right? How would that look on the resume as you hand it to your next employer.
Click here to generate your own expensive ad. I especially like the one for beer, competitive, women: one word... spokesmonkey. I like it. And so do the ladies.
So Apple has a big event planned for Oct 12th (next week) and lots of rumors are floating around as to what's going to happen - video iPod, video enabled Airport Express, or upgraded Powerbook/Powermacs.
I'll believe a video iPod when I see it. Not that I don't think they'll come out with one, but why do it so soon after releasing the iPod nano that's been getting tons of press and publicity for Apple? But then a big media event like this doesn't really make much sense for a simple speed bump to the Power line. We'll have to wait and see what Steve Jobs has up his sleeve (or in his pocket) next Wednesday.
So you got a new iPod nano but are bummed about the 4GB of storage that _only_ allows you 1,000 songs: upgrade that nano to a 200GB drive. It won't quite fit in your pocket anymore and your battery life will drop to nothing, but at least you can carry around 150,000 songs with you.
