I have an unwritten rule of how many tv shows I allow myself to get addicted to. I don't know what the number is exactly, but right now it's roughly 2. So as I find myself getting into one show, I have to drop another. I don't count The Daily Show since that is just required watching, period.
Sue and I managed to avoid watching 'Lost' last season... I think because somehow we'd let ourselves get hooked on Desperate Housewives. I can offer no reasonable explanation for why we watched it nearly every week except that it was a kind of wierd new show that at first was interesting and different, but by the end of last season had turned into an evening soap opera - hence the reason we're not watching it anymore. We should have been watching Lost instead. (well actually, we should have been talking about life, exercising, praying or any number of truly helpful things) The first show of the second season was really well done and got us hooked completely.
The only frustrating thing is how slowly they draw things out. With all the backtracking to people's story's before they were on the island, it felt like the show last night only moved us forward 5 minutes in the story. But that's why we're hooked I guess.
Once people start having other people's babies and falling into comas only to miraciously come out of it, we're moving on to something better.
