what Kbps rating do the itune files come in at? is it CD quality or the standard 128Kbps mp3. CD quality is over 400Kbps, so if you're paying the same amount as you would for a CD you're getting ripped off (pardon me i have a touch of audiophile in me.)

It's 128Kbps - so yeah, if you're an audiophile it's definitely not the way to go. It's in Apple's AAC format which, in theory, is more like 192Kbps in MP3 format but yeah, it's still not the same.
But then I don't have any speakers or headphones where I could actually tell the difference so I'm not too worried about it. It saves on packaging waste because I'd just end up throwing out the CD case in a couple years.
