It's hard to figure out what might be the next big thing in blogging/web stuff because there's so many cool sites/applications that people are developing. Could this be one? - From Evan Williams, one of the guys behind some company called 'Blogger'?
There's a new plugin going 'round called Photon that allows you to export directly from iPhoto to a MovableType blog.
They also have a iPhoto to Typepad plugin called PhotoToTypePad.

Trav got this nice shot of me the other day. I look like I've been punched in the eye and can't figure out how to open my other eye. Awesome.
I think this signals the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Last night's Simpson's torrent - Carlos and I both got it in about 15 seconds.
I was just getting a ride back to the Univ from lunch with my dad at Fudds when I heard Leo Laporte was going to be on next with Murray Wood on CKOM. Then I get back to my desk and see that Leo's blogged about it already.
I used to watch Leo and a bunch of other folks when we got TechTV on Sasktel MAX. It's a great channel for geeks - or geeks in training.
Great Jon Stewart show last night focusing on blogs - Grab the torrent file.

Badminton Injury

We went and played a little bit of badminton last night. It was pretty much the best game you ever would see. I think Luanne ended up winning every game she was in so I guess she was the ultimate victor - even though Kevin tagged her pretty good on the forehead with a birdie (naw.. you can't tell you got hit on the forehead).
I took away the 'W' in a game of Settlers we played afterwards. I came back from serious oppression and, frankly, outright racism to get the win.
Apple always puts on a good show, but be warned - the Apple Reality Distortion Field will be in full effect. You'll come away from it wanting to buy a Mac.

Originally they weren't going to update Internet Explorer until the next version of Windows came out (Longhorn... longtooth... long-in-coming), but Gates just announced that they will be coming out with v7 sometime this summer.
Funny how all those people running to download Firefox made enough noise to cause M$ to reconsider.
People are always wondering what i see when I tell them I'm a bit color blind. My reds and greens tend to mesh together as well as purple/blue. I don't know what it is, I've never really had it diagnosed.
But this site allows you to see what other people don't see. It's basically a color palette chooser for web designers and gives you an idea of what various degrees of color blindness will do to a color you choose for a design.
If you're using Flickr, check this out. A very cool graphical view of who's connected to who on flickr. Also a great way to find cool new photos.

We had Mark and Travis over last night to play a game of Settlers. It was Trav's first time and we didn't go easy on him but he did pretty good in spite of that. Sue ended up getting the W though... she just gave it 110%, kept focused on the tasks at hand, didn't let down her guard in the final minutes, kept her stick on the ice...
Our friends Troy and Heather (pictured here on the far left) are having a baby! We had to keep it a secret for a bit until they let their families know, but apparently everyone who they needed to let know, knows.
So come August there should be a little Troy or Heather running around. Congrats guys!
If you're reading this site via an XML feed, switch over to this one. It's got the last few entries on here as well as the last 5 photos from my flickr site.
I've reopened the comments up to general posting - no typekey registration required, but you can still use your typekey to login and have it automatically fill in your details for you. I'll see how long it takes for the spammers to catch on.
Played around with the design of the blog. Thought I'd add a little bit of color and "real life" to the site. The picture is from Mazatlan, just off the golf course at Estrella Del Mar where my parents condo is.
But I'd much rather be here in minus 21 with 3 feet of snow. Really.
Get your favorite band font here... if your favorite band is a late 80's early 90's metal band that is.
Think Napster has finally got Apple's iTunes Music Store beat? Think again.
Got too many iPod shuffles on hand? Why not make a iPod shuffle RAID?
From our work mailing list:
Here's something for broadband people that will really speed up
Firefox:
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return.
Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When
you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds
up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30.
This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it
"nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is
the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it
receives. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH
faster now!
