a few little tidbits
- new heading for the page, radiohead of course- the new Mars Volta album is amazingly intense and beautiful
- "Blue Monday" by New Order and "Connection" by Elastica have been whored out for Mars bars and some shampoo commercial respectively. (i think. it might actually be a tampon or sanitary napkin commercial) FOR SHAME!

woah. the new heading threw me off. i thought i was on the wrong page for a sec...
commercials for feminine hygiene products should be outlawed. among many other things. maybe i'll do a blog post about things i think should be outlawed...

"I was so UPSET by that Mars Bar ad using Blue Monday"!! I believe I wept openly.
Almost as bad as Hyundai using Depeche Mode's "Just can't get enough" a few years ago.
SACRILEGE!

Don't be too upset at the people making the commercials though. You know these bands get paid every time their song is used. Basically, it's whether or not they could say no to a truckload of money... and they couldn't.

artists don't always get to choose, sometimes they don't own the rights to the songs. one of the wonderful aspects of major labels.
i'd have to look into who had the rights to these songs. i would assume are booth owned by the original composers.
