futility in white

andrew managed to get his 4x4 stuck in a ditch. not just any ditch, one with snow around 3 feet deep. drew, jer, rie, and i spent a good two hours trying to get it out. couldn't do it, just kept sliding in. nuts.

L'Echine Du Diable

i just finished watching "The Devil's Backbone". it's a spanish horror/drama... with subtitles even. it's a movie i've wanted to see since i watched the special features on Blade II. this movie was directed by the same person, Guillermo Del Toro. he is a wonderful director, though he seems to do only dark films.

this is a good movie. the story is well thought out and the "horror" part isn't really scary... just a little disturbing, though in a compelling way. if you can stand the subtitles, i'd suggest watching it.
