one question and one warning.

one question and one warning.
question: is hell nihilistic or a state of torment? that is to say; does the soul cease to exist or enter a state of eternal torment ?

warning: i'm thinking about putting together a personal statement of faith. beware of forthcoming blasphemes.

title i don't need no stinking title

this is stupid, i'm just updating for the sake of updating. is that like dating for the sake of dating. anywho, i bought a copy of No Logo. it looks pretty interesting, but its ever so big. the sum and total of its content i believe to be facts, ideas, and protests against the commodification of our day to day lives. as well it deals alot with the proliferation of advertising. hmmmm, well i have a book to finish and another book waiting before i get to that one.

i got a book on silkscreening from the library so i'm a little psyched about making some shirts or something. it was easy in high school, so i assume it will be now too.

oh shoot, criminal monkeys!! gotsta go!!

(ps; anybody who understands that last part is part of a very select group and should feel free to expand at great length in the comments section)

Distorted Reality

at Caro's suggestion (insistance, persuasion) i finished watching the main part of the Noam Chomsky DVD i bought the other day. the full title is "Distorted Reality (Americas war on terror?)". over all its a very informative and interesting DVD, but man long and boring. you really have to be into this stuff to sit through it. after the main part there is an extra hour of question and answer stuff. again very good as far information, but long. i've only watched one or two of the questions, i just can't sit through it right now.

one of the big things he talks about is the fact that if you go by the U.S. military handbooks definition of terror, then the U.S. is one of the most guilty of all. in 1985 the reagan administration was crying out for international oppostion to terror in the middle east and south america. while doing this, they voted against a U.N. proposition apposing terror because one paragraph stated that this apposition did not apply to any people suffering under a colonial or racist government. of course during this time the U.S. was supporting both the incursion of Israel on palestine and lebanon (mostly through aiding them in acts of terror) and supporting the apartheid government in south africa. he also goes into the fact that during 1985 the U.S. and C.I.A. aided israel in the top 3 acts of terror of that year.

when i hear this stuff it scares me. it scares me because so much of the Church supports any form of support towards the "Nation" of Israel. knowing the little bit that i do about israels history in the old testament, i really don't want to be associated with them. God has a history of kicking them (and their allies) square in the ass when they begin behaving out of greed and vengence. i really don't want to be around for that.

mindless vagrant

i've been watching alot of my Foo Fighter and Rage Against the Machine DVDs. i really really enjoy Dave Grohl, hell the whole bands, energy. they turn "stacked actors" into a 15 minute rock out, then go blazing into "low". friggin amazing! the Rage DVD has an energy that surpasses the foo fighters exponetially, though its much more choatic. let me say it again: friggin amazing!

i also bought a Noam Chomsky DVD the other day. its called "the war on terrorism?" what i've watched so far is really good, super informative, and very honest. of course i knew i was spending today at a confrence, so i decided i'd probably be better to postpone watching alot of it. then i'll be better able to remember it later on.

p.s.: that leadership confrence was friggin amazing!

its been a long long

its been a long long week. i mean from this tuesday back to last tuesday. a week ago sunday i sorta had a breakdown, so i've been forced to take serious action as far as my mental health goes. so far it just feels like the calm after the storm. you know, when you're not sure whether its really over or whether its just a lull. but anyway it feels a bit better.

i've been seriously thinking about (well playing with) the idea of starting a record label/publishing company. and kirks sorta interested in the management thing, or would at lease consider the idea. indy is so cool, and then you can print vinyl too. the only problem is the shallow gene pool as far as saskatoon talent goes. maybe its not that bad, it just seems like people in solid bands either play funk or blue. and the rest either suck or are dirty hippies.

i'll try a little trendf'n

If you...

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?
same food as the yard plus thai and vietnimese, then you could never go wrong

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?
shoot probably custom guitars/basses and high end amps and as many other instruments as prossible. or maybe music (cds, vinyl, hifi gear, turntable, bose sound systems)

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be?
non fiction = something on spirituality and society
fiction = i've got some ideas that i'm just not willing to share

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach?
the revolution and the real jihad (holy war)

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?
i'd really like to record a 60's garage meets late 90's early 00's britrock album
