We're having a baby!!

In case you haven't heard yet... we are having a baby!! I am 21 weeks pregnant (which works out to be almost 5 months pregnant). Our due date is June 2!! Yeaaaaah!!! We went for our first ultrasound on December 21 and everything looked great. The baby even waved at us!! - that was really neat. We go for a second ultrasound next month so that we can get more accurate measurements. I feel like the baby is growing rapidly - especially in the past month. I have got a belly now!!! ahhhhh. I am also feeling lots of movement which makes it feel very real. I can't believe how much the baby is moving already.

We aren't sure whether its a girl or boy. James really wanted to find out however in parts of British Columbia, the ultrasound tech is not allowed to tell the patients because there have been many cases where when people found out they were having a girl, they would abort!! Its sooooo sad that people could be so horrible, but now we have to deal with the consequences. We are okay just knowing that our baby is healthy though.

Ever since November I have been having really bad back pain. The doc thinks its my psiatic nerve. I've been going to physio but I'm still in a lot of pain. After my recent doctor's appt. my doc has put me on medical leave and told me not to work until after the pregnancy. So I am officially a housewife right now!! Which means....
I am looking for visitors!!! (and a personal masseuse). Come one, come all!!!

I'll take a photo soon so you can see my belly/baby grow!! hehe

Keep in touch!

Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

James and I had a great time in Mazatlan, Mexico this Christmas with my family. It was so nice to see our two nephews and spend time in a sunny place again. We have been in withdrawal from the sun for the past few months so it was nice to get a good refresher. We arrived in Mazatlan Christmas day and spent 2 weeks visiting with Ives family, my family, and relaxing. It was great!! We got to go to a pinata party on New Year's Eve in Ives' neighborhood which was really cool. We all got to take a few swings at the pinata but none of us Canadians were successful at breaking it!

I will be posting some new photos so click on the "Image Gallery" on the right hand side of this page!!

Have a great New Year everyone!!

We're back blogging!

Sorry it has been so long since our last blog. We couldn't figure out our password so we couldn't add anything to our blog.

Things are going really good. James is busy working at Budget and Staples and I'm still working at Starbucks. We had an awesome time with my parents at the beginning of October. It seems like soooo long ago. We loved having them here and I think they had a pretty great time. In fact I know they had a great time because my dad didn't want to leave... even though they were going to New York City next. My dad said that he would rather stay in Campbell River than go to NYC! I'm pretty sure that the only reason for that was because he loves James and I so much!!! ( oh, and he loved the golf here too).
My mom on the other hand was excited about NYC and she had a great time shopping and seeing the sights there. Pretty cool!

Our next anticipated guests are James' parents - we're hoping.

Have fun this weekend Jamie and Ives moving into your new place!! I wish we could be there to help!

Adios for now,
Andrea

My birthday is over

Well, my 26th birthday has come and gone. I had a great day though. I mainly spent the evening chatting with friends and family. It was so much fun. First I spoke with Chris and Sue on Skype ( a free online phone service). Then James took me out to dinner to Moxie's on the ocean. After dinner Grandma Beer, Grandma Enns, Sherry & Ken, Mom & Dad, and Jamie called. I got to spend lots of time catching up on Saskatchewan news.

Thank you to everyone who sent cards and/or gifts and/or emails. Thank you Sally for the birthday card. It was so cute. Thank you Alyssa for the necklace. It is so pretty. Chris and Sue.... I just picked up the book you gave me. Thank you! I'm sure that I'll enjoy reading it. It looks great.

James had all the mail laid out for me on the table when I arrived home from work. James spent the evening surprising me. Everytime I turned around there was something new on the table. First there was a birthday card on the table from him. Second, there was an icecream cake on the table saying "Happy Birthday Andrea". It was so exciting that he had a cake made for me. What a sweetie. The last time I got to the table there a little box with a bow on it. I opened it up and there was an oval shaped silver locket with a gold cross on it. It is so pretty. Just what I wanted! Now I just have to find photos that can fit in it! Any ideas anyone?

I have uploaded some photos of James and I on my birthday. You should be able to see the cake he gave me along with the cards and some gifts around me. I'm wearing the cardigan mom gave me. Fits perfect mom!

I'm excited to go shopping next week when my parents arrive with some gift money that I received. Finally... an excuse to shop!! hehe

I must mention on behalf of my significant other though.... to all those who sent packages to Andrea ENNS.... it is difficult for me to claim them at the post office because my last name is actually changed to Beer (effective August 28, 2005).

The weather here has been beautiful - summer temperatures. Its great.
We move into our condo on Saturday. We can't wait to move in and get settled. It will be so nice. Anyone wanting to help is sure welcome!!!!!! I know my parents intentionly didn't come this weekend just for that reason! (just joking momsie... you guys helped enough already).

Keep sending us emails. We love hearing from you guys.
We haven't had any emails from a few people in a while... namely....
* Amber
* Ken
* Chris and Sue
* Ives Guardado

hehehehe. Not to make you feel bad or anything.... we just miss you.

In Courtenay

Hi guys,
Just in Courtenay chillaxin at an internet cafe place downtown. I'm enjoying catching up on emails and blogs while James is out talkin bikes at all the local bike shops. He has probably gone to all the kayak stores too. Its a sunny day here which is nice after a few days of rain.
I'm excited because its 2 days until my birthday and I managed to get my shift changed at work on my b-day. I work until 4pm now which is cool so that James and I can spend the evening together.
There isn't much new here. James and I plan on checking out a golf course on the way back to Campbell River to see if it will suit my dad's golfing abilities when they come out. We're getting excited about our visitors and excited about checking out Tofino. Don't worry Ives, we'll check out the surf for ya!
Oh, and we found this new Mexican restaurant in Courtenay. It looks so Mexican. It is this bright yellow cement building with authentic Mexican tiles all around it and beautiful gardens. It looks really cool. Wish you guys could see it!

Have a great day!

6 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!

The countdown is on! I will be 26 years old on September 21st! I'm kind of in shock from this realization. I think this birthday means that I am officially an "adult". I don't like the sounds of this.
James and I have enjoyed a couple days off together. We went out to Quadra Island yesterday. It is only a 10 minute ferry ride east of us. There isn't a lot there but we checked out a few resorts. The resorts do whale watching, grizzly bear, fishing, and kayaking tours from the lsland. It is beautiful but very remote.
Today we're doing catch up stuff - running errands. Its pretty nice here today: ~20 degrees and sunny.
I hear there is snow coming to Saskatoon possibly this weekend?! That sucks.
I think we'll miss the snow at Christmas but not really at any other time.
We're still awaiting our first visitors!!! My mom and dad should be arriving Oct. 4 and then staying for a week until they take off to NEW YORK CITY for a few days. We're really excited about them coming. James just told me that his parents are likely coming in October too. How lucky are we?!
So basicly we are now booking for November/December for our next visitors. Any takers??

Have a good one!
Andrea
